The announcement of Miss Universe 2024 being held in Mexico has churned a wave of excitement in the pageant world. The last time MU was conducted there was during the Trump era in 2007. Riyo Mori hailing from Shizuoka, Japan won the title for her country after a long span of 48 years and from Asia 7 years after Lara Dutta in 2000. As the stage of Miss Universe in Mexico dazzled, Riyo competed with 76 other delegates and showcased her best to promote to the finals where she adorned a Kimono-inspired floral black gown as an ode to her country. Her genuine and motivational answer made her rise above the rest of the delegates like Brazil, Venezuela who won 1st and 2nd runner up respectively. This was 16 years earlier!

Now in the JKN era, with the resignation of President Paula Shugart and Talent and Creative Director Esther Swan, the MUO stands on a new horizon. The broadened age group spectrum and inclusivity opens up a variety of opportunities for aspiring delegates. The audience are ready to eagerly witness the new journey of MUO and experience what the 73rd edition has in store for them. With major overall advancements, upgraded technology and dynamic fashion in the pageant world, how will Mexico exhibit their best and host the Miss Universe Organisation? There have been drastic changes in the organization from 2007 MU to this date but will the integrity and purity of MUO still persist after the resignation of such prominent officials?
