MISS UNIVERSE COLOMBIA - A MOTHER AND A WIFE ON THE MISS UNIVERSE STAGE!

This year, Miss Universe witnessed the highest form of inclusion allowing married, engaged, pregnant women and mothers to participate opening the doors for a large number of women whose dreams were shattered due to innumerable reasons and limitations that their lives offered. This made Camila Avella from Colombia reignite her purpose to grab the Miss Universe crown. A mother and a wife, Camila is the first ever woman with a child to take away the Miss Universe Colombia crown creating history for herself and all mothers. Representing the power house Colombia wasn't an effortless task though she managed to make it through perfectly. After a solid swimwear performance in the prelims, Camila made her way to the Top 20 in the finals, where her presentation was impressive. As it's rightly said, simplicity is the most expensive jewel a woman can wear and Camila owned it. The gown she chose didn't made a lot of fans happy but her infectious smile and faith gave her a worthy Top 5 placement. "Standing here on the Miss Universe stage, I'm already breaking stereotypes being a woman and being a mother", Marine ended her Top 5 answer with such an empowering statement. Definitely, her daughter would be getting so much inspiration from her mother and we are proud to see mothers mothering on a global stage.
